Silicone molding temperature and precautions?

1. Silicone injection molding temperature

Silicone injection molding temperature depends on silicone type and mix ratio. Generally, the molding temperature of silicone injection molding is between 160-200 degrees Celsius. Silicone materials in silicone injection molding, including liquid silicone and solid silicone, are used at different temperatures. The commonly used temperature ranges are as follows:


1. Liquid silicone injection molding: The molding temperature is generally between 165-185 degrees Celsius;

2. Solid silicone injection molding: The molding temperature is generally between 175-195 degrees Celsius.

We need to note that the temperature of silicone injection molding depends not only on the type and mixing ratio of silicone materials, but also on the design of the mold and the parameters of the injection molding machine. Therefore, in actual operation, it is necessary to repeatedly test and adjust parameters to obtain the best molding effect.

2. Precautions for silicone injection molding

1. Silicone preheating: During the silicone injection molding process, the silicone needs to be preheated to achieve better fluidity and molding effects. Generally speaking, the preheating temperature is 20-30 degrees Celsius higher than the molding temperature.

2. Cooling: After silicone injection molding, cooling is required to prevent excessive temperature from causing aging of the silicone or deformation of the plastic parts. The cooling time is generally 1-2 minutes, and the specific time depends on the parameters of the injection molding machine and the silicone molding situation.


3. Mold design: The design of the mold has a great influence on the effect of silicone injection molding. When designing the mold, factors such as the fluidity, surface tension, and shrinkage of silicone need to be fully considered.

4. Injection molding machine parameters:

Silicone injection molding machine parameters include injection pressure, injection speed, injection time, etc., which also have a great impact on the silicone injection molding effect. In actual operation, appropriate adjustments need to be made according to the characteristics of the silicone material and the design of the mold.


5. Water-reducing agent needs to be added during mass production, otherwise the fluidity of silica gel will be affected to a certain extent during the production process.

In short, silicone injection molding temperature and precautions need to be comprehensively considered and analyzed according to different situations. In actual operation, it is necessary to repeatedly test and adjust the silicone material, mold design and injection molding machine parameters to obtain the best molding effect.
